One of the biggest risks to the mental wellbeing of us all is negativity and it is essential that we all do what we can to remove negativity from our lives. This however is easier said than done, but there are some practices which we can all try that will seriously help to reduce the amount of negativity that we have in our day to day lives. What I want to echo today is what those brilliant metal health experts like Cash Myricks have been discussing, which are the small steps that we can all take to ensure that we are fitter and stronger in our mind than ever before, and getting rid of negativity is absolutely critical to this.
Here are some steps which you can easily implement that will ensure that you are living the most positively that you can.
Social Media
Social media is either filled with negativity or false positivity and the reality is that they are both as bad as each other. What you should aim to do here is to reduce the amount of time that you spend on social media, and make sure that you are following people who are genuine and who will share inspiring and motivational ideas and thoughts.
Measuring Your Friends
Our friends, at least our true friends, are never going to be intentionally negative towards us, yet they will fall into the trap of being overly negative and it is up to us to respond when that happens. It may well be that your friends have absolutely no idea just how often a negative comment comes out of their mouth, and so reminding them of this is going to be important for both them and for you.
Changing The Language
It may sound pretty simple but changing negative language into positive language is vitally important in how we feel overall. For example, instead of saying that you ‘have to go to work’ try switching that thought to ‘I get to go to work’ this indicates that you are fortunate that you have a job, especially when there are so many who do not. This changing of the language is eventually going to make you feel so much more positive and the impact which it will have won other areas of your life will be noticeable. The key changing your mindset and changing the language is the way in which to do just that.
Forcing Positive
And of course the best way to get negativity from your life is to double down on the positive. One great way to practice this is to write down things that you feel positive about. This is a great thing to do each morning, ensuring that every day is different, and this will set you up well for the day ahead.
We have to move forward and be positive because ultimately the negative vibes really don’t do anything for us or our psyche.
