If you’re an autograph collector, or a memorabilia collector, perhaps with an interest in a certain category such as the Presidents of the United States of America, or in a specific celebrity such as Elvis, or a particular sport like Baseball, then you might just be looking for an autograph for sale but are not sure where to find it.
Where to Find an Autograph For Sale
You could of course trail attic and garage sales in your area looking for the illusive autograph, but what are the chances of finding the one you need really? You could try memorabilia shops and antique stores with the chance of finding what you want. But nowadays there’s a much easier way of locating and buying the items you need for your memorabilia and autograph collections. There are online websites where autographed items, memorabilia and autographs can be either bought outright or through an auction. Unlike sites like eBay these sites specialize in these types of items.
How Do You Know If an Item Is Authentic?
Of course as a collector you want genuine items and actual autographs by the person they claim to be from. With autographs they can be examined to ensure they match the signature of the individual but that having been said, it’s not too hard to fake a signature. Therefore, there are a few ways that you can ensure a signature is genuine. Many official autograph collection websites will provide certificates of authenticity with an item which guarantees its authenticity. Along with the certificate they may provide a photograph of the autograph being written by the famous person. Another way is if it is an official document that has a signature on it, which is the case with many of the President’s items, they will have stamps and letterheads which confirm they are original pieces.
What Types of Autographs Are Available?
Autographs are Available in Most Collector Categories including Presidents, First Ladies, Vice Presidents, Sports Personalities, Holywood Stars, Artists, TV Actors, Historical Figures, and many others.
The autographs may be on a photograph of the individual, such as a headshot or a portfolio shot. If it’s an artist it may be on a print of a piece of their work, for an author it could be on a first edition of a copy of their book. With Presidential autographs they often appear on pieces of official paperwork, letters, etc, along with the Presidential seal. In some cases the autographs are from before or after their presidency as these are easier to come by official paperwork outside of the Whitehouse.
Also available are memorabilia items which are signed such as sports man shirts, footballs, baseballs, guitars, props from movies and TV sets, and items of clothing such as shoes, hats, and glasses.
So whatever your interest as a collector you should be able to find official authentic and genuine items that have signatures and may even be on memorabilia items. Why not take a look and grow your collection.
